Trabzonspor manager Abdullah Avci has insisted that the club are working hard to complete the signing of Rangers midfielder John Lundstram on a free transfer this summer.

The 30-year-old midfielder is set to exit Rangers this summer following the end of his contract with the Glasgow giants.

Lundstram has not been offered a new deal and he has been heavily linked with a move to Turkey in the next transfer window.

Trabzonspor have been in talks with the representatives of the midfielder for several months and there is talk of a deal being in place between the player and the Turkish giants.

Avci insisted that the club are still working on a deal to sign the Rangers midfielder on a free transfer.

He claimed that concrete information on the club’s pursuit of Lundstram will be available this summer.

Avci was quoted as saying by Turkish outlet Haber: “We are working intensively regarding the transfer.

“There are also those with whom we have come a long way.

“There will be information about him soon. “

Lundstram will hope to end his time at Rangers by beating Celtic on Saturday and winning the Scottish Cup.
