Sunderland and QPR have put formal offers in for Valencia star Declan Frith, but Getafe are confident of seeing them off to win the race.

Frith, who has also been attracting interest from Watford, currently turns out for Valencia’s B team.

He is expected to be on the move this summer and Valencia are prepared to do business, though any deal would need to contain a sell-on clause for Los Che.

Sunderland and QPR have both made formal offers for Frith, according to Spanish daily Marca, but Getafe are closing in on the winger.

Frith’s agents are travelling to Madrid on Monday to look to close the deal with Getafe, with the winger’s desire key.

The Valencia man would like to stay in Spain and has made that his priority.

Despite considering Sunderland and QPR to be their main rivals for Frith, Getafe believe that the chance to stay in Spain and play in La Liga will make him say yes to their offer.

Frith, 22, has another two years left to run on his contract at Valencia; he has never made a senior appearance for the side.
