Blackburn Rovers’ swoop for a defensive target looks to be ‘game on’ after he missed training today, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Ewood boss John Eustace is looking to bring in two experienced centre-backs before the summer transfer window closes.

Eustace has targets in mind as he looks to tighten up the backline at Blackburn in the new Championship season.

He is keen on the experienced Danny Batth, who Blackburn looked at signing a year ago.

Batth is available to move this summer and has been training at his former club Wolves.

However, Batth is not at training at Wolves today and it is ‘game on’ as Blackburn look to take the 33-year-old to the north west.

Batth departed Sunderland last summer and joined Norwich City, but he struggled to regularly win over boss David Wagner.

The centre-back is likely to be attracted to the idea of remaining in the Championship at Blackburn.
