Newcastle United are yet to table a ‘suitable offer’ for Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford, according to the Chronicle.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper has been on Newcastle’s agenda all summer but they failed to agree on a deal with Burnley earlier in the window.
There is talk of Newcastle reviving the talks to sign the young goalkeeper from the Championship club on deadline day.
Burnley are also reportedly ready to drop their asking price if Newcastle are prepared to do a deal to sign him in the dying embers of the window.
However, with less than 12 hours left in the window, Newcastle are yet to put in an appropriate bid for Trafford.
He is keen on a move to Newcastle but for the moment, Burnley do not have a good enough offer on their table.
The Clarets are prepared to accept a fee above £20m on deadline day to sell Trafford to Newcastle.
It remains to be seen whether Newcastle decide to make a late move to sign the young goalkeeper today.
