Rangers are working on a move for Sassuolo midfielder Nedim Bajrami and are willing to pay a fee in the region of £3.4m to get the deal done, according to Sky Sports News.

After conceding the league title to bitter rivals Celtic last season, manager Philippe Clement is unwilling to leave any stone unturned to adequately equip his team for the challenge that lies ahead.

The club announced the signing of Neraysho Kasanwirjo from Feyenoord earlier in the day, taking their overall number of new arrivals to ten.

They have immediately turned their attention towards signing another midfielder.

The focus is in Italy where Sassuolo’s 25-year-old midfielder has caught the eyes of Rangers’ scouts.

In fact, a deal is being worked on to take Bajrami to Glasgow before the window closes at 11pm.

Rangers are willing to pay £3.4m to the Serie B club to sign Bajrami.

Sassuolo have been keen not to sell, but the fee may be too good to turn down.

The player was part of the Albania squad that played at Euro 2024 last month.
