One of Celtic’s summer additions is keen to build on his first appearance for the club and play regularly in the weeks and months to come.
Brendan Rodgers made a number of additions in the summer, including the huge outlay on Arne Engels, but left-back was an area he wanted competition in.
Alex Valle, 20, came through the academy set-up of Spanish giants Barcelona and he is highly rated at the club.
Barcelona though knew Valle would not play for them this term and loaned him out to Celtic.
Rodgers gave Valle his debut in the Scottish League Cup last weekend, where Celtic defeated Falkirk 5-2.
Valle scored a goal on his debut for Celtic and his performance in the game turned some heads.
Now, after his performance last weekend, Valle has set his sights on locking down the left-back spot, according to Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo.
Greg Taylor is the current first choice left-back under Rodgers and the 20-year-old will also be facing competition from Adam Montgomery in that position.
On Saturday, Celtic will face St. Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership and Valle will be hoping to impress Rodgers in training to get into the starting line-up for the game.
