Hibernian boss David Gray has insisted that he will not shy away from the fact that the start his side have made to the season is not good enough.

The 36-year-old was appointed as Hibs manager in the summer after Nick Montgomery was let go.

Gray, however, has seen the Scottish side make a dreadful start to their league campaign after they managed to win only one of their first eight matches.

They are currently sitting rock-bottom in the Scottish Premiership and Gray insisted that he knew the possibilities of facing such a situation when he was appointed as Hibs manager.

Gray stressed that he is not shying away from the fact that Hibernian are currently not doing well enough to represent themselves in the league.

“It is a challenge I knew was going to be there at the start of the season when I took the job”, Gray told Sky Sports Scotland about Hibs.

“I have been long enough at the club to understand the pressure, the expectation, demands.

“And, as I have always said, I am not going to shy away from it.

“Where we find ourselves at the moment, is not good enough and no one here is going to say anything different.”

This Sunday, they will play Hearts at Easter Road, and will look to register their second win of the league campaign against their city rivals.
