Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that his faith in goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is being paid back by the Poland international, whom he now counts amongst the top five custodians in the Premier League.
Szczesny made his Arsenal debut late in 2010 and Wenger has stuck by him virtually ever since, removing him from the firing line only once. And despite calls for the Gunners boss to buy a new number 1, Szczesny has been trusted with the gloves.

That is something Wenger is now thoroughly happy he chose to do, telling his club's official site: "Certainly a part of his improvement is mental because he's more mature.
"His decision-making is cleaner, sharper, quicker. He was always a very talented boy but because he's intelligent he learns quickly from experience.

"I'm happy that I always gave him the confidence because he's developing very well into a very strong goalkeeper and today certainly nobody would question that he's one of the top five goalkeepers in the Premier League."
Szczesny has been a key man in an Arsenal side which currently sit top of the Premier League table, with a one-point lead over second-placed Manchester City.
The Gunners are also through to the Round of 16 in the Champions League, where they will meet Bayern Munich.
