Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson believes manager Arsene Wenger has the desired experience to guide his side expertly in the busy period in February and March.

The Gunners, who drew Liverpool in the fifth round of the FA Cup, will face the Reds twice, in addition to playing against Manchester United and Bayern Munich between 8th and 19th February.

A similar taxing round of fixtures awaits Arsenal in March as well because Wenger’s side are due to play against Bayern Munich, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester City in consecutive matches within 18 days.

However, Jenkinson is not worried about the packed fixture schedule in the coming months as he is aware Wenger has knowledge of dealing with it, having already dealt with a similar situation over the busy festive period in December.

The 21-year-old further added that he wants Arsenal to fully utlise the present light round of fixtures as it helps to give his side some much needed recovery time and rest.

"Over Christmas, it [the fixture schedule] is always jammed packed", Jenkinson explained to his club’s official site.

"But now it eases a bit which is good because it was a bit intense and the boys do need a good rest between games.

"You get the best out of the team when we have those rest periods as well.

"But the boss is fantastic at that because we put a good run together when it was very intense, hopefully now we can push on with a few less fixtures and more recovery time."
