Jens Lehmann has backed his former club Arsenal to emerge victorious in the Champions League Round of 16 despite facing defending champions Bayern Munich.

Both sides will meet for the first leg on 19th February in London, with Arsenal still carrying memories of their 2-0 win at the Allianz Arena in the same round last season.

Arsenal were eliminated in that round, but Lehmann, who spent two spells with the Gunners, is confident Arsene Wenger's side are a much improved lot.

Lehmann, who also coincidentally played for Bayern Munich's rivals Borussia Dortmund, was quoted by the Abendzeitung as saying: "Arsenal have become stronger.
