Arsenal will consider themselves favourites to land Sweden international Kim Kallstrom after he left Spartak Moscow's training camp today.

According to the Russian news agency ITAR-TASS, Kallstrom is looking to seal his move to the Emirates Stadium having taken, almost literally, a big step himself.

The 31-year-old midfielder has left Spartak's training camp in Abu Dhabi, having checked out of his hotel today morning.

And according to Swedish outlet Expressen, he is well aware of Arsenal's interest, and prompted fresh speculation by not getting involved in a Spartak training session last night.

Arsenal's interest gathered pace swiftly in the last few days after some less-than-pleasing team news.

Aaron Ramsey's recovery from injury took a setback earlier this week, while Mathieu Flamini is suspended for three games including the clash against Manchester United.

Kallstrom, a former Rennes and Lyon player, has been at Spartak since the summer of 2012 but has just 39 appearances for the Russian giants.
