And so Wenger will be boosted by having his midfield options significantly increased, especially with it having been an injury-hit area of his team.

Speaking at a press conference via his club's feed, Wenger said: "We might have Jack Wilshere back for Liverpool.

"Mikel Arteta will be alright."

The Arsenal manager also declared his belief that the clash against Brendan Rodgers' Reds could be coming at a good time for the Gunners, with it kicking off a tough run of fixtures.

Wenger remarked: "Saturday is a good moment for us to win a big game because we have a big month ahead."

Arsenal won the earlier Premier League meeting between the two sides 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium.
