Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he expects to have Mikel Arteta back to face Liverpool at the weekend, while Jack Wilshere has every chance of being involved.

The Gunners make the trip to Anfield sitting on top of the Premier League table, but with Manchester City and Chelsea breathing down their neck.

And so Wenger will be boosted by having his midfield options significantly increased, especially with it having been an injury-hit area of his team.

Speaking at a press conference via his club's feed, Wenger said: "We might have Jack Wilshere back for Liverpool.

The Arsenal manager also declared his belief that the clash against Brendan Rodgers' Reds could be coming at a good time for the Gunners, with it kicking off a tough run of fixtures.

Wenger remarked: "Saturday is a good moment for us to win a big game because we have a big month ahead."

Arsenal won the earlier Premier League meeting between the two sides 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium.
