Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that Liverpool are still firmly in the Premier League title race.

The Reds, who host Wenger's men at Anfield tomorrow afternoon, currently sit fourth in the table on 47 points, eight behind the Gunners, who top the table, and six behind second and third-placed Manchester City and Chelsea respectively.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted his side are not in the race, with simply finishing in the top four their focus.

But that is not a view shared by Wenger.

He told his club's official site: "Liverpool are in the race.

"I think they are eight points behind us so of course they are in in there.

"They have a strong offensive potential as we know.

"I believe the quality of our defensive game will be very important in the end result on Saturday afternoon."

Liverpool have a number of home games to come against teams around them in the Premier League, with visits from, after Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Newcastle and Manchester City.
