Arsene Wenger believes Arsenal dominated Manchester United enough this evening to have earned victory, but admits the Red Devils restricted his team to very few chances.

Arsenal, bidding to bounce back from a 5-1 mauling at the hands of Liverpool last weekend, enjoyed the better of the game at the Emirates Stadium, a contest that ultimately ended as a 0-0 draw.

The Gunners had much more possession than the visitors, while they also registered more attempts on goal.

And Wenger struck a slightly disappointed note post match, while pointing out that his team had to be aware of being hit on the break throughout.

"If you look at the domination we had then yes [we should have won it] but Man United restricted has to very few chances and the few we had we couldn't take", he said via his club's site.

"On top of that, the quality they have going forward, when we lost the ball in their half they were dangerous, not always, but on one or two situations.

"When you have [Robin] van Persie, [Juan] Mata, [Adnan] Januzaj – they are all players who can be dangerous on the counter.

"On the other hand you felt our team was highly focused not to concede, and that maybe restricted our game going forward a little bit because we were certainly hit by the five goals we conceded on Saturday. You could feel that here."
