Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger feels it will be “difficult” for Manchester United to finish the season in a Champions League spot.

The English champions, who drew 0-0 with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium yesterday, are currently seventh in the Premier League with 42 points from 26 games.

David Moyes’ side are now 11 points adrift of fourth-placed Liverpool, who won 3-2 versus Fulham yesterday.

In addition, Tottenham Hotspur also consolidated fifth spot with a convincing 4-0 win over Newcastle United.

And Wenger, who admitted that Manchester United can still make it to the top four as it is mathematically possible, believes it will be tough, especially with the teams above the Red Devils notching up wins.

“It is mathematically not impossible but it will be difficult for them because Tottenham won, Liverpool won – it is very tight”, the Frenchman explained to his club’s official site.

“I don’t know more than you.”

Manchester United will next take on Crystal Palace, whose match against Everton yesterday was called off due to unfavourable weather conditions, at Selhurst Park on 22nd February.
