Wojciech Szczesny has insisted that Arsenal’s 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool last weekend is out of their system, ahead of his side’s FA Cup contest against the Reds on Sunday.

The Gunners somewhat recovered from that setback after playing out a goalless draw with Manchester United on Wednesday.

And Szczesny, who admitted that the big loss at Anfield was humiliating for Arsenal, declared that his side are confident about facing Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.

"We're confident,” the Poland international explained to his club’s official site.

“It will be a big game for us because we conceded five there on Saturday which was a little bit humiliating, and we want to recover as soon as possible.

"It is out of our system now, we've turned up with a good defensive performance [against Manchester United] so it is out of the system.

“It was just an accident, they were terrific offensively and we were a little bit weak defensively and we got punished.”

Szczesny further added that Arsenal will do their best to come out victorious against Liverpool in view of progressing to the next round of the FA Cup.

"It's a good chance by playing them the week after and we'll do our best to win the game and qualify for the next round."

Arsenal have already defeated Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium this season, when they beat the Reds 2-0 in a Premier League game on 2nd November 2013.
