Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes his side can still conclude their recent fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have finished in a positive situation from a points viewpoint, despite losing the latter clash at Stamford Bridge 6-0 today.
In Wenger's 1,000th match in charge of the Gunners he saw his side raise up the white flag to Chelsea, who overwhelmed Arsenal from the off and were 2-0 up inside seven minutes.

In a bizarre incident Arsenal saw Kieran Gibbs sent off even though a handball offence had been committed by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, while Chelsea then went on to score a further four goals, routing the ten-man Gunners.
But Wenger, looking at the bigger points picture and taking into account last weekend's 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur, explained his side are in a better spot than if they had draw both games.

Asked about the Premier League title race, he said via his club's site: "We had two difficult away games at Tottenham and Chelsea.
"If we had played two draws we’d have two points.
"Having won one we have three points."
However, Wenger would not deny that to lose 6-0 at Chelsea hurts.
"But today is a huge disappointment of course. When you don’t turn up in a game of this stature – nobody takes that easy", he added.
