Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is worried about his team’s away form and accepts that recent results have dented the confidence of the squad when playing away from home.

Arsenal suffered a comprehensive 3-0 defeat at the hands of Everton at the Goodison Park on Sunday, with goals from Steven Naismith, Romelu Lukaku and an own goal from Mikel Arteta for the Toffees.

Wenger admits that something has gone wrong in the recent weeks as earlier Arsenal played well away from home this season.

“We were very strong away from home, we had the best record in the Premier League”, the Frenchman told the club’s official site.

The 64-year-old accepts that the team’s confidence in the recent weeks has been dented and concedes the fact that they are failing to start well in big games and in turn conceding the advantage to the opposition.

“Certainly psychologically we have lost a bit of confidence.

“Today as well we were behind early, Everton were very good on the counter-attacks but I still feel we had a lot of the ball but were not really dangerous.”

Arsenal are currently fourth in the Premier League table on 64 points, followed by Everton at fifth on 63 points, but who boast a game in hand.
