Looking back on this season Wenger lamented that he lost a few key players due to injury at crucial junctures, but believes that the Gunners can finish the season strongly as they still have a lot to play for.

“This season we lost key players at big important moments of the season, but we have to just to focus on finishing as well as we can.

“We are in a position where we can still do very well until the end of the season, that is what we want. It is not about next season, it is about this season.”

Wenger joined Arsenal in 1996 and they finished third in his first season in charge. In the following season, the Frenchman led the Gunners to a Premier League and FA Cup double, only the second time in the club’s history.
