Arsenal forward Theo Walcott feels a win in the FA Cup final will motivate the team for more trophies next season, as he hopes his side can get back to glorious times.

Arsene Wenger’s side look to end their trophy drought when they face Hull City in the final of the knockout tournament at Wembley on 17th May, as they hope to win their first silverware after almost nine years.

On the brink of finishing the season in the top four of the Premier League, Arsenal at one point were leading the English table, before injuries and disappointing performances from February onwards saw them slip to fourth.

But Walcott, who has been sidelined since an anterior cruciate ligament injury he picked up in January, feels a win in the FA Cup will just be the first of many, and hopes that his team will be able to repay the faith the French manger has shown in the side.

“If we win the FA Cup, which we have a great chance to do with the way we are playing, the players are going to want more trophies. I think the first one is so important – once you win that, you’ll win more and more. I’m pretty sure of that”, the English international told the club’s site.

“It would be great for the boss to win a trophy again, too. He’s shown so much belief in us throughout the years. If we don’t play well, he always reflects it back on him, even though it’s our job to go out there each week and try to perform.

“That just shows how much faith he has in us all and it’s really important to him. The years just before I arrived here were unbelievable and he wants that again”, the 25-year-old added.
