Feyenoord defender Daryl Janmaat admits that he is aware of interest from Italian club Napoli, but has refused to take a decision on any potential transfer before the World Cup.

Napoli have shown keen interest in the Dutch defender, but Arsenal and Liverpool have also previously sent scouts this season to run the rule over the 24-year-old.

“Napoli is following me. Not that I've spoken to them, or anything, but I know that the club is following me”, Janmaat told Voetbal International.

The Dutch defender has refused to get into contract talks with Feyenoord or discuss any potential transfer before this summer as he is expected to be part of the Holland squad for the World Cup and wants to completely focus on this summer’s big event.

"I recently spoke with Martin van Geel, the technical director. Together we agreed that we suspend the negotiations on the renewal of my contract until after the summer. It is for me a special summer.

“First the World Cup with the Oranje, then perhaps a transfer."

The 24-year-old believes that he can play in any of the top leagues in Europe and will move to a club that gives him the best chance to develop as a player.

"I'll go to the club that give me the best feeling for the future, which I think is going to be good for my development.

“And it doesn't matter to me initially whether it is in Italy, England, Spain or Germany. I think I am the type of player who could play in all these competitions."

Janmaat recently said that he might have played his last home game when Feyenoord beat Cambuur 5-1 on their home turf.

The full-back has made 30 league appearances for Feyenoord this season, scoring a couple of goals and providing five assists.
