FC Porto defender Danilo has played down speculation linking him with Premier League side Arsenal, but admits that if an offer arrives it may be worth a "ponder".

The Brazilian right-back has been mooted as a possible signing for Arsenal as a replacement for the departing Bacary Sagna, who has refused to extend his contract at the Emirates Stadium and will leave officially at the end of this month.

Danilo has been quietly building his reputation at Porto since joining the Portuguese club in 2012 from Santos.

And while he is in no hurry to quit Porto, he has left the door open for a reappraisal of his situation if "speculation" takes on a more concrete form.

"Right now I am happy and ready to return to Porto [from Brazil]", he explained to ESPN Brasil.

"If there is something good for everyone, let's ponder it.

"But up until now it's just speculation."

Danilo is also determined not to get carried away with transfer speculation.

"I'm at Porto, who are a good showcase and I have had good games, which has given rise to links with other clubs.

"But between this and the existence of a proposal, there is a big difference."
