Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is focusing in on Lyon's Clement Grenier and Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin and intends to sign at least one of the duo this summer.

After refusing to activate Arsenal's buy-back clause to snap up Cesc Fabregas, who as a result is poised to move to Chelsea in a €33m deal, Wenger is looking elsewhere for his midfield reinforcements.

And his hunt has led to two France internationals, according to L'Equipe, with Grenier and Schneiderlin those in the former Monaco coach's sights.

Grenier has long been of interest to Wenger, who has noted his continued progression at Lyon, development which has also seen Napoli keep tabs on the Frenchman.

The Lyon man had been hoping to head to the World Cup with France this summer, but has missed out on a spot in Didier Deschamps' squad due to a hip injury.

Injury meanwhile helped Southampton's Schneiderlin earn a ticket to Brazil after he was called up to replace Franck Ribery, ruled out after hurting his lower back.

Wenger ended Arsenal's nine-year trophy drought this year by leading the club to the FA Cup. He will be keen to bolster his squad for the 2014/15 campaign in the hopes of winning silverware once again.
