Arsenal have been handed encouragement in their bid to buy Mario Balotelli from AC Milan, with the Italian club's managing director Barbara Berlusconi explaining no one is irreplaceable.

Balotelli has emerged as a serious transfer target for Arsenal this summer, with boss Arsene Wenger looking to bolster his attacking options ahead of the 2014/15 campaign.

Milan are thought to be ready to sell the Italy international if they receive a sufficiently tempting offer and Berlusconi believes that every player has their price.

"Balotelli is a great player, but to my way of thinking I think no one is irreplaceable", she told Lo Stadio.

"We will see what happens", Berlusconi added.

However, the managing director is content to leave player signings in the hands of the experienced CEO Adriano Galliani.

"On the sporting side I am sure that Mr Galliani will do an outstanding job to get us back into Europe."

Balotelli is currently on international duty with Italy at the World Cup in Brazil.
