Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has predicted a six-way race for the Premier League title in the 2014/15 campaign.

The Gunners, who spent the most time on top of the table last season, ultimately finished in fourth spot with 79 points, seven behind champions Manchester City.

It was a four-way race involving Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal for the Premier League title last term, and Ramsey expects two more teams to enter the fray in the upcoming campaign.

However the Wales international, who scored 16 goals in all competitions in the previous season, is hopeful about his side going all the way this time.

"I think there's going to be about six teams involved right until the wire", Ramsey told Arsenal Player.

"It's going to be difficult but I think we have a great team here and great team spirit. We're in a good place at the moment.

“Hopefully we can get off to a good start in the season and put [ourselves] in a good position and hopefully last season where we fell away a bit we'll improve and put that right.

“[If we do], we'll have a great opportunity.”

Arsenal, who defeated Manchester City 3-0 in the Community Shield last weekend, will begin their Premier League adventure with a home fixture against Crystal Palace tomorrow.
