Arsene Wenger has spoken to Adrien Rabiot about a potential move to Arsenal, after Paris Saint-Germain authorised the player and his representatives to talk to the Gunners and other interested parties.

According to French radio station RMC, Rabiot's representatives met PSG earlier this week to discuss their client's situation, following the midfielder knocking back the latest attempt to extend his contract, which expires next year.

And at the meeting, PSG reluctantly authorised the player's representatives to speak to interested parties.

Wenger has already been on the phone to express his interest in snapping up the France Under-21 international, but Arsenal face significant opposition for Rabiot.

The young midfielder is admired in Italy, where Juventus and Roma are also set to start talks with his representatives.

Rabiot has resisted signing a new contract at PSG because he is unhappy with the amount of playing time he is receiving at the Parc des Princes.

PSG are thought to be looking for a minimum of €7m for the midfielder.
