Arsenal have confirmed the arrival of striker Danny Welbeck from Manchester United.

The Gunners were on the lookout for a new striker, with Olivier Giroud out until the new year through injury, and have splashed around £16m on the England star .

And in Welbeck, boss Arsene Wenger believes he has found his man, snapping up the England international from the Gunners' Premier League rivals.

Arsenal announced: "Danny Welbeck has joined Arsenal for an undisclosed fee on a long-term deal."

Welbeck was recently declared surplus to requirements by Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal, who has moved to bring in striker Radamel Falcao.
