Arsenal will be without right-back Mathieu Debuchy for three months after he underwent surgery on an ankle injury.

The defender picked up a knock during Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium, being forced off the pitch.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger confirmed the defender could miss up to three months if he had to undergo surgery.

And he has now admitted that is the case, telling his club's site: "He has had surgery and will be out for three months."

Wenger will now be forced to switch to young right-back Calum Chambers to fill in for Debuchy.
