Arsene Wenger has played down the chances of striker Lukas Podolski leaving Arsenal in the January transfer window.

Podolski is unhappy with his fringe status at the Emirates Stadium and recently admitted that he would have to hold talks with Wenger ahead of the opening of the window.

He has attracted interest from Juventus and Galatasaray, while there has also been talk of a return to the Bundesliga for the German.

But Wenger says no club have yet come calling.

"I have had no enquiries from anybody", the Arsenal manager told a press conference.

Wenger also praised Podolski's attitude and application, while stressing breaking into the Arsenal team is not easy for the German.

"He faces big competition.

"He has an outstanding attitude and he works very hard."
