Ronny Deila insists he was pleased with John Guidetti's performance for Celtic during yesterday's 3-0 Scottish Premiership win over Partick Thistle, praising the Swede for being a team player.

While Guidetti scored prolifically when he first arrived at Celtic in the summer, his goals have now become more infrequent and he could not hit the back of the net against Partick Thistle as  the Bhoys went three points clear at the top of the league table.

Deila says he is speaking to Guidetti on a regular basis and informed the on-loan striker that he was happy with his display in last night's Scottish Premiership clash.

Deila told a press conference: "I talk a lot with all the players.

"I was delighted with John Guidetti's performance yesterday. He was a team player.

"In the past few weeks he's been very good.

"He had a big influence in the result."

And Deila is backing Guidetti to soon find himself amongst the goals once again, telling the striker his hard work will reap rewards.

"I know the goals will come, if he keeps working 100 per cent every day and is prepared. He will get his rewards, I know it."

Guidetti is on loan for the season from Manchester City and Celtic are keen to keep him on a permanent basis. The striker however has yet to take a decision on his future amid interest from several other clubs, including French giants Marseille.
