Celtic assistant manager John Collins expects a tough Europa League tie against an in-form Inter Milan, but he is optimistic about the Hoops' chances over the two legs.

Ronny Deila’s men go into the match on the back of stellar form having won their last six league matches as they appear on their way to win their fourth successive Scottish Premiership title having taken a three-point lead over their nearest rivals Aberdeen with a game in hand.

They have also successfully navigated their way to the Scottish FA Cup and League Cup quarter-final and final respectively.

Talking at a pre-match press conference ahead of Celtic’s first leg of their Europa League round of 32 tie against Inter due to be played at Celtic Park on Thursday, Collins appeared confident about the Hoops' chances.

Inter have started finding their feet under Roberto Mancini having won their last two Serie A matches and scoring seven goals in the process.

“We are playing very well, and you have to believe you can win it, but we know we are up against a very good team.

“And a team who are maybe hitting a form in the last couple of games. But we are in a good place at this moment in time.”

Collins is enthused by Celtic’s form at both ends of the pitch as they have plundered 15 goals and conceded just one in their last six league outings.

“We haven't been conceding goals and we are creating lots of chances and scoring goals, so that's what you want from your team.”

The tie promises to be a humdinger of a battle as two teams enjoying rich vein of form go head-to-head at Celtic Park on Thursday.
