Celtic manager Ronny Deila has promised the club's fans that his side will improve in Europe after they went down to a damaging 2-1 defeat at home to Norwegian side Molde this evening.

The Bhoys fell behind in the 21st minute, but did draw level through Kris Commons eight minutes later. However, Molde scored again in the 38th minute and when Celtic had Nir Bitton sent off in the 76th minute, there was no way back.

Molde have now qualified for the knockout round of the Europa League, but Celtic's hopes are hanging by a thread and they will need to beat Ajax and Fenerbahce in their final two games.

Deila admits his side have not been at their best in Europe, but has promised fans improvement.

"We’ve still got a chance to go through if we win the next two games", he said via his club's site.

"We’re lucky we’re getting that second chance and we’ll do everything we can to beat Ajax and Fenerbahce.

"We have done very well domestically but we haven’t reached the level in Europe that we want, but we’re going to improve", he added.

Deila admits that the performance against Molde was not good enough and says that on a normal day, Celtic play better.

"I’m not very pleased with the performance. I felt we could get something out of the game but we didn’t reach the level that we're normally at."
