Ajax manager Frank de Boer has revealed his team’s strategy ahead of their Europa League Group A encounter against Celtic scheduled for tonight.

The Dutch outfit have travelled to Scotland to take on the Hoops at Celtic Park.

De Boer’s side must beat Celtic to give their hopes of qualification a shot in the arm.

Ajax are currently third placed in the group, with three points from four games and are two points behind second placed Fenerbahce.

De Godenzonen’s fate in the competition is dependent on whether the Turkish side drop points in tonight’s encounter against Molde, if they do not win.

De Boer has revealed that his team will look to dominate the game in Celtic’s half.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, as quoted by the club’s official website, De Boer said: “We’re not going to open the door, but we will naturally attack.

“We want to win, and we need to win.

“So we are going to try to dominate on Celtic’s half.

“We will also have to keep the field compact.”

The reverse fixture at the Amstredam ArenA in September finished in a 2-2 draw when Lasse Schone’s late equaliser helped his side earn a point.

Nir Bitton had opened the scoring for Ronny Deila’s men, before Viktor Fischer equalised.

Swedish defender Mikael Lustig again helped his side earn the lead, however, Emilio Izaguirre’s sending off 20 minutes from time gave Ajax the window to equalise.
