Steve McClaren is taking the positive from Newcastle United's current predicament, following a 3-1 home defeat to Bournemouth, stressing the Magpies still have ten games left to save their Premier League status.
Newcastle looked to try and push forward at St. James' Park, but Bournemouth had the better of the possession and took the lead in the 28th minute when a Josh King effort hit Steven Taylor and deflected into the back of the net.
The Magpies were booed off by their own fans at half time and matters soon got worse for the home team when King struck in the 70th minute when Matt Ritchie played him in and he made no mistake with a classy finish.
Newcastle had a lifeline with ten minutes left when Jonjo Shelvey found Ayoze Perez with a superb pass and the Spaniard slotted his effort into the back of the net.
But there was to be no comeback for the Magpies as in injury time their hopes were killed off with a Charlie Daniels goal for the Cherries.

Newcastle now still sit second bottom with 24 points from 28 games and the club's fans chanted McClaren would be sacked tomorrow morning.
But the boss is looking at the positives, with ten games left to turn things around.
"I’m very disappointed. That was definitely a poor performance and 'going down' material. The only positive is that we have 10 games to go", McClaren was quoted as saying by the BBC.
"We have got to find the fighters in the team and the performance today did not epitomise that. We cannot play like that and hope to stay up.
"But we are fortunate that we’ve got 10 games and that’s enough. It’s a four-team league now and we play everyone around us."
The Magpies boss does admit that the performance itself against Bournemouth is tough to draw positives from, with the pressure having affected his players in his view.
"There was a certain edginess and you could see that in our play. We lost our shape. Normally we are a good attacking team, but today we were poor on the ball. You can only say that the pressure got to them.
"I can’t see any positives but we have to stick together as a staff and as a team, and fight."
