Chelsea legend Pat Nevin feels that Arsenal’s mounting injury concerns are threatening to derail them at a crucial juncture of the season.
The Gunners booked a place in the last eight of the FA Cup last night with a 4-0 win over Hull City, but the victory came at a cost as the team picked up more injury problems.
Arsene Wenger has already been dealing with a number of injury troubles in his squad, and his list of injured players only grew, with Per Mertesacker, Gabriel Paulista and Aaron Ramsey all picking up fresh knocks at the KC Stadium.
Arsenal take on Watford in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday, but Nevin is not sure what team Wenger will put out as all the senior defenders are currently serving time on the treatment table.
The Chelsea legend feels the mounting the list of injured players is a huge concern for Wenger, and with the season entering a crucial phase, he believes their hopes of winning a trophy are quickly evaporating.

The former Scotland international said on BBC Radio 5 live: “He will be looking at that medical room now, and that’s more important than anything else at the moment.
“They have got a game against Watford at the weekend in the FA Cup and what on earth does he do in that defence. He is possibly missing all three centre backs now because of the injuries they got tonight.
“That’s a real worry for them; not just in the FA Cup, but Barcelona coming up after that and the charge for the league title.
“It’s all becoming less and less likely, but it’s not all Arsene’s fault. They are still in the FA Cup, they are still in the Champions League, and they still have an outside chance in the league, but it’s fading because of the injuries.”
Following their FA Cup sojourn on Sunday, Arsenal will travel to Barcelona with hopes of overturning a 2-0 deficit in their Champions League last 16 tie.
