Shkodran Mustafi has revealed that Arsenal new boy Lucas Perez is an all-round striker who has the ability not only to score goals, but create chances for others.

Arsene Wenger finally splashed out the money to sign Mustafi and Perez in the last week of the summer transfer window, to add more depth to his Arsenal squad for this season.

While Mustafi was linked with a move to north London all summer, not much was known about Arsenal’s interest in Perez, and it took most Gunners fans by surprised when the club triggered his release clause last month to sign the forward from Deportivo La Coruna.

The Spaniard scored 19 goals last season and Mustafi is one of the players who are aware of the quality of Perez as they did come face-to-face when Deportivo and Valencia clashed in Spain.

And the Germany international stressed that the forward is an uncomfortable player to play against for any defender as he is always on the move, and has the ability to create chances for others.

“He is uncomfortable to play against”, Mustafi told Arsenal Player.

“He’s a good striker – he has everything a striker needs.

“He’s someone you can play well with. He doesn’t just run around and wait for someone to give him a pass to score a goal. He works a lot for the team as well and he creates chances.

“He’s in the right place at the right time, as he showed last year in La Liga. I played there for two years and I know it’s not that easy to score many goals in La Liga, because you have great defenders there as well.

“I think he’s going to help the team a lot.”

The duo could make their debuts for Arsenal this Saturday at the Emirates against Southampton.
