Ex-Celtic full-back Mark Wilson feels Callum McGregor is a perfect fit for the Bhoys under Brendan Rodgers.
The midfielder, who signed a new deal with Celtic on Thursday, has vastly improved since Rodgers took charge of the Scottish giants in the summer of 2016.
Under the Northern Irishman’s tutelage, McGregor has made 56 appearances in all competitions for Celtic, scoring 10 times and setting up 14 goals.
And Wilson believes Rodgers’ possession-based style of play suits McGregor to a T as the 24-year-old is comfortable on the ball.
The 33-year-old thinks besides scoring important goals, McGregor possesses the important ability to pass his way out of any difficult situations.

“I think he brings a lot to the team”, Wilson said on Celtic TV.
“Especially under a Brendan Rodgers side, who like to keep the ball and like to pass the ball.
“Callum McGregor is so comfortable on the ball and in possession.
“He’s totally right to score some fantastic goals and some very important goals.
“But he is one of those players to whom you can give the ball in any situation and he can pass out his way from there.
“For Celtic and the way they want to play and the way Brendan Rodgers likes to play, he’s a perfect fit for this Celtic team.”
McGregor, who is now contracted with Celtic until 2021, has found the back of the net three times and provided as many assists in 10 games in the present campaign.
He is a product of the Bhoys’ youth system and spent the 2013/14 season on loan at Notts County.
