Chelsea have confirmed that they have agreed a deal to sell Diego Costa to Atletico Madrid.

Costa has been frozen out of the first team at Stamford Bridge since the end of last term as a result of his stormly relationship with Blues boss Antonio Conte.

He was keen to rejoin former club Atletico Madrid, but no deal was done in the summer as talks between the two clubs failed to find common ground.

Now Costa is heading back to Atletico Madrid, with claims from Spain that the club will pay Chelsea an initial €55m and a further €10m in potential bonus payments.

Chelsea have now confirmed a deal is in place and Costa will become an Atletico Madrid player subject to completing a medical and agreeing personal terms with Los Rojiblancos.
