Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has confirmed that the Italian champions are indeed interested in signing Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey.

The Welshman is out of contract at Arsenal next summer and the breakdown in talks over a new deal has more or less ended any hope of him staying at the Emirates beyond the end of the season.

His contract situation has enticed a few bigwigs of European football towards the 28-year-old midfielder and his representatives are set to hold talks with Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

But Juventus have been on Ramsey’s trail for a number of months and believe they are in pole position to sign him on a free transfer next summer.

And Paratici confirmed that the Italian champions are indeed keen on the Welshman but refused to divulge anything more about their pursuit.

He was quoted as saying by Sky Italia: “Yes, we are interested in Aaron Ramsey, he’s a great midfielder.

“But at the moment he’s an Arsenal player, we’ll see.”

The Italian champions have prepared a deal and are hopeful of reaching an agreement with the midfielder in the coming weeks over a pre-contract.
