Gers defender Helander came through the youth ranks at Malmo, along with Jansson, and established himself at the Swedish giants before moving to Italy with Hellas Verona.
Jansson also switched to Italy, linking up with Torino, but now plies his trade in the English Championship at Brentford.
Jansson has been clear about his desire to move back to Malmo to see out his career and Helander is also of a similar mind.
The 27-year-old admits he has spoken to his 29-year-old former team-mate about reuniting at the Eleda Stadion to play out the final years of their respective careers.
“The hope I have is to be able to end my career at Malmo”, Helander told Swedish daily Expressen.
“I have spoken to Ponne about us doing it together.”
Helander has clocked 17 appearances for Rangers so far this season and looks on course to pick up the Scottish Premiership title with the Gers.
He made 94 appearances for Malmo, while Jansson managed 128 outings for the Swedish side.
