Carter-Vickers has started each of Bournemouth’s seven Championship games since Woodgate was first appointed as the caretaker manager of the club last month.
The 23-year-old, who made just two league appearances prior to Woodgate’s arrival, repaid the manager’s faith in him by netting the late winner in the Cherries’ 2-1 win over Bristol City on Wednesday.
Delighted with the Spurs loan star, Woodgate has explained that it was high time that the defender scored a goal and went on to hail his performance against the Robins as fantastic.
“It was about time he scored anyway“, Woodgate told AFCB TV.
“He was fantastic, by the way.“
Woodgate is also of the view that Carter-Vickers and Steve Cook are forming a solid partnership at the back for Bournemouth.
“I thought they two were absolutely exceptional in the game“, the former Spurs star added.
“Really good partnership they have got going there together.
“They look really solid.“
Carter-Vickers has made eleven appearances across all competitions for Bournemouth so far this season.
