Second placed Celtic dropping points against Dundee United in a 0-0 draw earlier this month confirmed Rangers had clinched the Scottish Premiership title in the current campaign.

The blue half of Glasgow erupted in celebrations as Rangers lifted their 55th top flight crown, but emotions beyond just boundless joy filled the dressing room at Ibrox, according to midfield star Hagi.

22-year-old Hagi revealed that a sense of relief filled him at the moment Rangers were confirmed as champions as it took huge pressure off him and his team-mates.

However, Hagi stressed that he was able to refocus quickly and is aiming at helping Rangers win the Scottish Cup now while having their hearts set on pushing harder and improving their game further to do even better next season,

Asked what winning the top flight title mean to him, Hagi told Rangers TV: “It is unbelievable.

“It is really difficult to put it in words because it is mixed emotions from on a daily basis, having the pressure to always win, to always get better, it is a lot

“It is a lot as a football player, as every person who is around this amazing club.

“So, it was a relief when we just saw that game that Celtic drew against Dundee, it was a relief, I think.

“You can see it through the videos, through the photos it was a big relief, just the emotions that came out of everyone.

“So, it was beautiful but already on the second day, my mentality was what now? like what can we do now? what can I do individually?

“So, I think the only way for me individually and hopefully for the team as a group, we only want to go in front, try to get better.

The Gers will be keen on keeping their unbeaten record in the top flight intact during the remainder of the season and they will take on Cove Rangers in the Scottish Cup on 3rd April.
