The Seagulls signed the centre-back last summer from NAC Breda and he was loaned out to Heerenveen for the season.

Van Hecke made 28 appearances in the Eredivisie last season and Heerenveen want the defender back at the club this summer as well.

The Dutch club are interested in extending his loan deal by one more year but it has been claimed that Van Hecke has other suitors.

According to Dutch outlet FeanOnline, clubs in England and German have been keeping tabs on the defender and are interested in signing him this summer.

The Dutchman has been keen on returning to Heerenveen next season on another loan as he enjoyed playing regular football at the club.

But with more clubs chasing him, Van Hecke now has other options on his table this summer.

Graham Potter will take a look at the defender during pre-season before considering whether Van Hecke has a place in his squad next season.

Brighton are likely to consider loaning him out again this summer if Van Hecke insists on playing regular football.
