Spurs beat Burnley 1-0 last night in the fourth round of the EFL Cup and Romero was declared the Man of the Match for his impressive performance.
Romero has played all 90 minutes of Spurs’ last three league games, indicating increased confidence in him by the manager Nuno, and his display against Burnley has found him even more in the good graces of the Spurs fans.
Supporters have taken to social media to express their views, with both Connor and Spurs Related seeing huge things in the future for Romero and think that Spurs should build their team around the centre-back.
Glenn thinks that Romero is the best player Spurs have signed for quite a while, maybe even since star Heung-Min Son.
John is starting to believe Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni’s words that Romero is a fantastic defender, while Oisin thinks that Spurs’ backline looks much more solid with the centre-back.
Louis thinks Romero is the best centre-back in the league but Billy is of the opinion that Davinson Sanchez was better last night against Burnley.
CHAOSN17 feels the fact that Romero won Man of the Match for his performance against Burnley does not bode well for Spurs however.
Christian Romero really is an elite defender, if he was in Liverpool or Man Citys back line everyone would be raving about him, we have to invest around him and Skipp #Coys #thfc

Taking a break from my relentless Tottenham negativity to say that Cristian Romero might be the best player we’ve signed in the past 5-6 years (since Son?). Which says plenty about his quality and even more about our recruitment during that period #THFC

Argentina’s coach said he is World Class , and I am starting to believe him

Fantastic performance from him yesterday. Our back line always looks so much stronger with him in it.

This is the thing he shouldn’t be motm, our cb’s see more of the ball then anybody on the pitch, it’s not right midfield need to do a lot better #THFC https://t.co/3twemgVHuT
