Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under pressure at Manchester United after a run of one win in six Premier League games, including demoralising home defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City.

Many are still perplexed that Solskjaer has managed to keep his job despite the recent humiliating home defeats, but there are suggestions that the club do not have any succession plan in place.

Brendan Rodgers is believed to be their first choice if they sack the Norwegian but the club are still hoping that Solskjaer carries on until the end of the season.

And it has been claimed that no genuine talks have taken place between Manchester United and other managerial candidates.

Manchester United have been carrying out checks on potential replacements for their current manager.

But they have not held any concrete talks with anyone out of respect for Solskjaer for the moment.

They believe it is the club’s first major blip in the last three years and are backing the manager to turn it around.

But if results do not improve, Manchester United will be forced into getting in a replacement in the middle of the season.
