A woeful first-half in north London saw Leeds go into the break 1-0 up against Tottenham on Sunday and the home crowd booed the Spurs players off the pitch.

But the north London club reacted in the second half as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg equalised just before the hour-mark and Sergio Reguilon scored the winner in the 69th minute.

Giaretta stressed the importance of Tottenham coming back from behind to win the game and feels that the result will further convince the players to believe in Conte and buy into his methods.

He insisted that the Spurs players need to be better both mentally and temperamentally and stressed that Conte has the tools to help in that regard as he is more than just being a tactically astute coach.

Giaretta told Italian outlet Tutto Mercato: “He can give conviction to the team.

“Yesterday’s [Sunday] victory by coming back from behind was essential to believe in the coach and in his work.

“They have high-level players, they must be released mentally and temperamentally.

“He certainly does not lack this, he is good but not only tactically.”

Spurs will be in Europa Conference League action on Thursday when they take on NS Mura at the Recreation Park Fazanerija.
