Pogba is out of contract at the end of the season and for the moment he is not minded to sign the fresh terms on offer from Manchester United.

Manchester United are claimed to be preparing for life after the Frenchman and are believed to be considering midfield targets.

Mino Raiola recently met Barcelona president Joan Laporta in Turin and Pogba’s name cropped up in the discussions between the super agent and club supremo.

But according to Catalan daily Sport, the biggest stumbling block to Barcelona signing Pogba is their manager, Xavi.

The Barcelona coach is focused on signing young and technical players and the Frenchman does not suit the profile of midfielders he wants.

Xavi is not enthused by the idea of signing Pogba and is not interested in having him in his squad.

The midfielder’s wage demands meant Barcelona were always likely to struggle to sign the France World Cup winner.

But it seems even their manager is now not convinced about getting his hands on the Manchester United star.
