The Hammers have been chasing Lingard all month and that has continued into the final hours of the ongoing transfer window.
Manchester United knocked back West Ham’s initial approach for Lingard earlier in the window as they did not want to strengthen their direct top-four rival.
But the east London club tabled another bid today, which is believed to be more than what they offered to Manchester United for Lingard’s loan last year this time around.
However, it has been claimed, Manchester United are still not open to doing business with the Hammers.
The Red Devils do not want to run the risk of providing a key player to West Ham at this stage of the season and boost their hopes of getting into the top four.
Lingard would prefer a move to London but Manchester United have kept the door firmly shut for the moment.
Newcastle have made a fresh bid to sign the midfielder on loan on deadline and it includes a survival bonus.
The player spoke with Ralf Rangnick earlier today in order to push for a move to Newcastle on deadline day.
