The Gunners are currently sixth in the top flight table, four points adrift of a top four spot but boast three games in hand on fourth placed West Ham United.
Arsenal’s next top flight clash on Thursday at Molineux will see them square off against another European spot hopeful in Bruno Lage’s Wolves.
The Midlands outfit are enjoying a rich vein of form in the top flight at present with four wins in their last five outings, but Wolves star Gomes has acknowledged that they are up against one of the best teams in the top flight in Arsenal in their next outing.
Wolves fell to a surprise exit in the FA Cup against Norwich City in their last game, but the centre-back has warned Arsenal that his team have what it takes to spring a surprise on Thursday and are prepared to go toe to toe with them.
“It’s crucial because of the result of the last game – we need to give a response in the next game against Arsenal”, Toti told Wolves’ official site.
“We are preparing well in training in the week to face them on Thursday and after we will see.
“Of course, Arsenal are one of the best teams in the Premier League, we all know they have a good coach and good players.
“We have to look to our team and know we have good players and a good team, and we also can surprise them and go face to face with them.”
A win for Wolves would see them leapfrog Arsenal in the standings, while Mikel Arteta’s men will be determined to get back into the win column having dropped points in their last two outings.
