The Colombian has been a fixture under Spurs boss Antonio Conte, but has struggled with his form in recent outings.

A 2-0 loss to Wolverhampton Wanders on Sunday means Spurs have lost three games on the bounce in the Premier League and Sanchez is one of the players that have come under fire for their performance in the clash.

And former Premier League hitman Agbonlahor has labelled Sanchez a kamikaze defender as he keeps on making mistakes in the backline that end up costing his team.

Agbonlahor added that even though Conte is able to play his best attacking assets in the likes of Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane up front, Spurs are unable to defend properly, which has resulted in them losing ground in the top four race.

“There is something about them at the moment because he [Conte] is playing his best team”, Agbonlahor told talkSPORT while discussing Spurs’ top four prospects.

“You have got Son back in, you have got Harry Kane starting to get a bit of form back, but they just cannot defend.

“They just cannot defend, like Sanchez at the back, honestly, he is like a kamikaze defender.

“When you watch him, you just [see] that he has got a mistake in him.”

Tottenham are set to face a tough test at the weekend when they travel to the Etihad Stadium to take on league leaders Manchester City and it remains to be seen whether Sanchez retains his starting spot, with Joe Rodon being an alternative option.
